All three heat shisha tobacco electrically, so there is nothing to light and no ash to clear. They even share the same heating technology and the same bowls. The difference is what you put them on. The XKAH Pro and the XKAH Lite are electronic heat management heads that sit on a hookah you already own. The Shii is a complete all-in-one hookah with the heater, bowl, water tank, hose and mouthpiece in one device.
Every number side by side is on the XKAH Pro vs XKAH Lite vs Shii comparison page, where you can also take one of the three off to compare just two. This post explains what the numbers mean.
The XKAH heads replace the charcoal, not the hookah. They sit on the bowl port of your own stem with a silicone seal (S and L grommets with the Pro, two adapters with the Lite) and fit all common hookahs. Everything else stays as it is: your base, your hose, your mouthpiece.
The Shii replaces the lot. It has its own water tank with a level window, a built-in diffuser, a soft-touch hose with magnetic connectors at both ends, a modular mouthpiece and a retractable handle that carries the device and holds the mouthpiece. If you already own a hookah you like, that is money spent twice. If you do not, it is the simplest way to start: one box, nothing else to buy.
The Shii's heating plate is the one used in the XKAH Pro, so the heat itself is the same idea on all three: a plate above the bowl, where the charcoal would sit, with contact and convection heat working together (the Lite calls its version Trio-Heat and adds radiant heat).
Control is where they part. The Pro has an LED display and three modes: Classic, Custom (220°C to 305°C and session time) and Non-Tobacco. The Lite has a single dial with a light ring: press once for Classic, or turn it for 260°C to 310°C. The Shii has a soft-touch ring and a light ring, auto or manual in 11 levels of 5°C from 265°C to 315°C, two pre-heat strengths and a silent mode for the beeps.
Pro: 50 minutes in Classic, up to 90 in Custom, then swap the battery or recharge. Lite: 50-minute sessions, start again as often as you like. Shii: about 8 minutes to pre-heat, then a 50-minute session; if there is life left in the bowl you can restart in seconds without pre-heating again.
One stainless steel bowl serves all three. It takes 8 to 12 g of tobacco, about half a charcoal bowl, and goes in the dishwasher. Two come in every box, and a spare 2-pack (XKAH or Shii branded, £18.99) fits any of them. If you move from a head to a Shii, your spares come with you.
The Lite is the lightest at about 532 g, the Pro about 680 g; both are small enough to sit on a stem and go in a bag (the Pro's travel bag is in the box). The Shii is a whole hookah, so it stays on the table. Its body stays below 50°C, so it is safe for your interior: Shii will not burn your sofa or floor, even if it falls. The heads get hot in use like any heat management device, so let them cool before packing them away.
Every row, including charging, weight, display and what is in each box: XKAH Pro vs XKAH Lite vs Shii.
Electric heads and the Shii's heater get hot in use. Follow the maker's instructions and keep them out of reach of children. 18+ only. See the XKAH range and the Shii range.
